A hotline for complaining about pollution has been set up in Beijing. The service, run by the city"s first non-governmental environmental protection organization, offers advice and legal aid to victims.
More than 120 residents have already called the hotline number (6226-7459)for information on environmental protection regulations since it opened on November 1, according to Professor Wang Canfa, head of the center and a noted environmental law expert at China University of Political Science and law.
The volunteers who run the service include legal experts and professors, law students from Beijing and Qinghua Universities, and China University of political Science and law.
